Clean Marinas
Ohio Clean Marinas Program
Mondo Polymer Technologies, Inc. is a primary partner with the Ohio Clean Marinas initiative in promoting shrink-wrap recycling associated with seasonal boat storage and protection.
The Ohio Clean Marinas Program is a proactive partnership designed to encourage marinas and boaters to use simple, innovative solutions to keep Ohio's coastal and inland waterway resources clean. The Program assists these operators in protecting the resources that provide their livelihood - clean water and fresh air.

The basic goal of the Program is environmental stewardship by making marinas and boaters more aware of environmental laws, rules and jurisdictions, and to get as many marinas as possible to follow best management practices and to be designated as "Clean Marinas."
Michigan Clean Marina Program

The Michigan Clean Marina Program focuses on practical tips for controlling pollutants associated with recreational boating operation, maintenance and storage, and relevant environmental laws and regulations. The program is a partnership of the Michigan Boating Industries Association, Michigan Sea Grant College Program and the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality. For more information about the Michigan Clean Marina Program, see

The Michigan Clean Marina Program launched a shrink-wrap recycling effort in partnership with Mondo Polymer Technologies, Inc. More than 150,000 pounds of shrink-wrap was recycled through this effort in 2007.  A number of solid waste facilities in Michigan are now providing recycling services, allowing smaller marinas and other businesses to recycle shrink-wrap as a result of outreach efforts.
Keep this program active
In an effort to keep this program moving forward, we ask that all boat owners and or
marinas remove all nylon strapping, carpet, metal and lumber from all boat wrap covers, these materials are not recyclable by Mondo at this time.
We also ask that effort is taken to keep the boat wrap as clean as possible. If you have any questions about your material please feel free to contact Ron Wesel.
